Dear Chapin Students, Families, Alumnae (or Alums), Professional Staff, Community Members and Friends,
Welcome to the first ever Virtual Chapin Book Fair! The Chapin Book Fair is a much anticipated and cherished Chapin tradition which brings together the entire school community to celebrate reading and to raise essential funds for student scholarships and professional development. While we may not be able to celebrate this year's Book Fair together in person, we have created an exciting lineup of virtual author visits and curated a wonderful collection of books for readers across divisions to virtually celebrate our Book Fair theme of Speaking Out: Bravely and Rightly.
This online Book Fair will be open for three weeks, from Monday, November 2nd to Friday, November 20th. We have taken care to include an option for parents to donate books to Project Cicero and to feature books across a variety of genres, interests and reading levels. I encourage you to explore some of the titles included and be sure to check out some of my recommendations.
Cultivating a love of reading is an essential part of the Chapin curriculum. Books can be a source of great joy, inspiring us to think beyond ourselves, to enter imagined worlds, to listen with compassion and act with courage, and to use our voices to advocate for change, bravely and rightly. I hope you will join me in celebrating this year's Chapin Book Fair and continuing this beloved Chapin tradition.
